It was less windy.... but still pretty cold

Hephzibah went outside for a few minutes today. That was because at the time the wind wasn't blowing. The next time she turned right back into the house because a gust of wind came along. This afternoon I hunkered in under the comforter and watched the hockey games. Hephz came down from her perch and settled herself by my legs. Good kitty!
Jeff was out doing the Bird Count again today. He saw an American Robin and some Brown Creepers. Down by 42nd Ave. East and Lake Superior he saw Lew's Bald Eagle. Jeff figures it will be nesting near there -- he has seen a second BE near there. For those who don't know Lew was a great birder and he was in the nursing home near where Jeff saw the eagle. As he was ending his journey on this earth, a Bald Eagle perched in a spot visible his window on a couple occasions including the day he died. Now when Jeff sees the BE he says it is "Lew's eagle" -- he never met Lew. I am sorry he didn't because they would have had a lot to talk about. There were a lot more birds to report today. Jeff said it was because the wind was calmer.
They say that it will be cold again tonight.
By the way, the baked beans turned out great! And the oven provided a little extra heat.

Well I better start thinking about getting ready for Sunday.
Lois
